Department of History of Faculty of Science and Literature of University of Gaziosmanpaşa was found in 1992 in Tokat. Since İt's found, it has played a lot of role and contributed to this kind of activities in both across Tokat and in the country. Our main priorities are to be recognited and recognited of the works and events given in every period of history From Antic Era to modern Turkey and modern Earth, in each profession of history , transfer of our rich cultural heritage from past to future and presentation of these values to our students. The Department of History continues its activities with a total of 22 faculty members, 4 professors, 10 associate professors, 5 assistant professors and 3 research assistants. Our undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs are available. Qualified academicians are being trained according to the branches of science in the graduate and doctoral programs currently being carried out.
Mission
The aim of Department of the History is to train students to be able to compete with Turkey's friends who have graduated from other universities in their fields. For this purpose, from Ancient History to modern Turkey and World History İt's being provided information to students on matters concerning the whole area. In addition, thanks to the Old Turkish (Ottoman) they learn, they are able to work in many state institutions and organizations, especially archives.
Vision
The general vision of the Department of History is to ensure that graduates have a passion for knowledge in all areas and that they contribute to the highest level of education in the history and culture of the country. Students can use this information in the teaching of subjects in the history of the world and in Turkey and the discussion. Students have the opportunity to choose the study area they want in their graduate programs. Our graduates may find employment in the Ministries of Education and Culture, State Archives and various educational institutions.
