Accreditation Notice

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History was accredited on August 28, 2023 and this status is valid until September 30, 2025.

The Institutional Accreditation Program (IPP) is an external evaluation method that enables the evaluation of quality assurance, education-training, research and development, social contribution and management system processes in higher education institutions within the scope of the “planning, implementation, control and prevention” cycle.

KAP is carried out by evaluation teams established by the Higher Education Quality Council within the scope of the Criteria for Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation and the Guidelines for Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation.

Each year, higher education institutions to be included in the PDP are determined by YÖKAK and evaluation teams are formed in accordance with the structure of these higher education institutions. Two visits (preliminary visit and field visit) are made to the relevant higher education institutions by these evaluation teams.

As a result of these visits, Institutional Accreditation Reports (IARs) are prepared by the evaluation teams and a decision on accreditation is made by YÖKAK based on these reports.

The following decisions are made by YÖKAK within the scope of PDP:

Full accreditation (for five years)

Conditional accreditation (for two years)

Decision to deny accreditation

Program Accreditation refers to the evaluation and external quality assurance process that measures whether academic and field-specific standards predetermined by an accreditation body in a particular field are met by a higher education program.

In Turkey, the Higher Education Quality Council is responsible for the authorization and recognition of accreditation bodies. The process of authorization of national accreditation bodies and recognition of international accreditation bodies is carried out within the scope of the principles and criteria determined by YÖKAK.

Since 2016, the YKS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide (formerly known as ÖSYS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide) includes program information accredited by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK.
